Ceci n’est pas de l’amour*

Gdy dotykamy nagiego ciała innej osoby, do naszego móżdżku (części mózgu odpowiedzialnej za emocje) przesyłane są sygnały. Dzieci potrzebują tego kontaktu fizycznego, by nawiązać więź ze swoimi wychowawcami.

Ojcowie są dziś bardziej powściągliwi w publicznym okazywaniu uczuć dzieciom niż w latach 80. lub 90. XX w.  Upowszechnieniu ulega także świadomość tego, że dotyk może uruchamiać wrażenia seksualne lub być w ten sposób odbierany przez świat zewnętrzny. Z drugiej strony, kontakt fizyczny pomiędzy kobietami i dziećmi jest często postrzegany jako kojący.

Ceci n’est pas de l’amour*

By touching a person’s bare skin, signals are sent to the cerebellum, the part of the brain that controls emotions. Children need this physical contact in order to become attached to their educators. Fathers are more reticent than they were in the ’80s and ’90s concerning public display of affection towards their children.

There is an increased consciousness that touching can also activate sexual feelings in them, or be perceived as such by the outside world. Physical contact between women and children, on the other hand, is often seen as reassuring.
